Market Tailwinds Driving ZYOD's Growth

ZYOD CEO Ankit on the "China Plus One" strategy, India's role in apparel manufacturing, and how ZYOD is different.

Indian apparel manufacturer ZYOD’s growth has been nothing short of extraordinary.

In just under two years, they’ve expanded to:

  • Serve 350 customers across 18 countries

  • Offer 10,000 unique styles monthly

  • Work with major brands like Reliance, Aditya Birla, and FirstCry

Their next big goal? To scale even faster—reaching 100,000 unique designs per month and expanding their customer base to 40 countries.

And recently, they raised $18 million in Series A funding, led by RTP Global, to fuel this growth, with participation from Lightspeed, Alteria Capital, Stride Ventures, Stride One, and Trifecta Capital.

First, what exactly does ZYOD do?

ZYOD is an apparel manufacturing marketplace that connects global brands with India’s vast network of factories.

  • For brands, they provide a platform that simplifies the entire design-to-delivery process, ensuring a seamless experience from concept to production.

  • For factories, they provide a technology-driven platform that helps manage day-to-day operations, enabling them to fulfill orders efficiently.

At first glance, the concept of an "Indian manufacturing marketplace" seems like an idea that’s been tried before.

But ZYOD’s rapid growth and scale in such a short time truly stand out.

What’s driving this growth? Why now?

Curious to uncover the driving forces behind their success, I reached out to ZYOD’s co-founder, Ankit Jaipuria, to learn more.

As I explored ZYOD's story, one thing became clear: their success isn’t just about their technology or operational prowess—it’s about capitalizing on the shifting dynamics of global manufacturing.

With trends like the “China Plus One” strategy reshaping supply chains and India emerging as a global manufacturing hub, ZYOD is thriving at the crossroads of opportunity and innovation.

My conversation with Ankit revealed how these trends, combined with ZYOD’s unique approach, are not only fueling their growth but also positioning them as a major player in the rapidly evolving Inidan apparel industry.
