Shipping alliances reshape for 2025
MSC is restructuring its global container shipping alliances, launching a new standalone east-west service network and finalizing a vessel-sharing agreement with THE Alliance for nine Asia-Europe services. This transition coincides with the disbanding of the 2M partnership with Maersk in February 2025. The remaining members of THE Alliance will rebrand as the Premier Alliance, collaborating with MSC on various trade routes. Additionally, MSC has signed a three-year vessel-sharing agreement with Zim for transpacific trade, improving operational capabilities in the Asia-North America market.
